Laboratory Director – Russell Tracy, Ph.D | Dr. Tracy is Professor of Pathology and Biochemistry, Director of the Laboratory for Clinical Biochemistry Research (LCBR), and Director of Translational Technologies in the Center for Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Vermont. He served as Senior Associate Dean of Research & Academic Affairs in the College of Medicine from 2001-2009. He has held ABCC Board certification as a Clinical Chemist and in the past has run a section of the Clinical Chemistry laboratory at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester NY. As founding Director of the Laboratory for Clinical Biochemistry Research (LCBR), he is currently involved in a number of molecular and genetic epidemiological studies, many as a member of the Steering Committee, such as the CHS (Cardiovascular Health Study; funded by the NHLBI; n ~ 6000), and MESA (the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis; NHLBI; n ~ 7000). His laboratory also performs core lab work for many clinical trials, especially trials related to heart disease such as NHLBI’s Heart Failure Network.
