Sangeeta KashyapSite Principal Investigator – Sangeeta Kashyap, MD Dr. Kashyap is Staff Physician in the Department of Endocrinology Institute at Cleveland Clinic since 2004 and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. She graduated from the University of California at Irvine College of Medicine and proceeded to complete her medical residency at George Washington University Hospital and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston.  She completed her clinical fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at UCLA/Greater Los Angeles VA Medical Center and a post-doctoral diabetes research fellowship at University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Kashyap’s clinical and research focus is on insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes pathogenesis, and the endocrine/hormonal effects of obesity surgery. She is the recipient of research grants from American Diabetes Association and National Institute of Health and serves on the ADA scientific session program committee and Endocrine Society board review committee. She has authored over 70 publications in high impact journals including New England Journal of Medicine, Diabetes, Diabetes Care, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, and American Journal of Physiology. Dr. Kashyap has trained a number of medical students, residents and fellows and enjoys teaching evidence based medicine. She is the site Principle Investigator for the D2d trial.
